I qualify for jobs posted by the housing authority. I've started my own cleaning business and was denied an opportunity to work for them. Despite applying for other positions, I've been ignored. Additionally, I live without hot water at times and suffer from epilepsy while our floors are cement with commercial carpet and no padding beneath it. My apartment manager lacks people skills and treats tenants like they have diseases, while the local housing authority prioritizes fixing up their office over addressing tenant needs.

Housing authorities must treat residents with respect and dignity, provide humane living conditions, offer more programs for residents with and without children, share information on board meetings transparently, disclose how tax monies are spent, and explain why residents aren't being picked for jobs as promised under Section 3 employment opportunities.
