Demand Resignation of Trevor McGregor, Executive Director of Community Living Stratford

The Issue

We, the undersigned members of the Stratford and Area community, and concerned citizens, hereby demand the immediate resignation of Trevor McGregor from his position as the executive director Community Living Stratford.

Trevor McGregor's tenure has inflicted irreparable harm upon the employees and the integrity of Community Living Stratford and Area (CLSA). The testimonials we've gathered paint a grim picture of a workplace fraught with toxicity, fear, and a blatant disregard for ethical conduct.

In November of 2023, we tragically lost a valued member of our community, Amy Clark, who succumbed to the mental health challenges exacerbated by harassment she endured under McGregor's management. Her devastating loss serves as a stark reminder of the dire consequences of allowing such behavior to persist unchecked.

Numerous accounts from current and former employees further expose the pervasive culture of fear and intimidation cultivated under McGregor's leadership. One former employee voiced, "After I left, multiple staff of over 10 years also resigned. That's not a coincidence. Nor is it anything to do with people 'not wanting to work'... CLSA being called out on their practices has been a long time coming, it’s just sickening that this is what it took for it to happen."

The veil of secrecy shrouding CLSA's operations, with employees being denied exit interviews and vital information concealed from the Board of Directors, is deeply concerning. It is evident that McGregor's actions have tarnished CLSA's reputation, straying far from its mission to serve and support individuals with developmental disabilities.

The ongoing abuse of power within CLSA demands immediate intervention. We strongly advocate for an internal investigation to ensure transparency and regain the trust of employees and the community. As one concerned former employee aptly put it, "The agency's tarnished reputation no longer aligns with its mission, and it is crucial to restore CLSA as a trustworthy and ethical organization."

Therefore, we call upon the Board of Directors, including Gerry Krug – President, to heed our collective voice and take swift, decisive action. Trevor McGregor must resign from his position as executive director, and steps must be taken to rebuild CLSA into an organization that upholds the values of integrity, respect, and compassion.

In solidarity with those who have suffered under McGregor's leadership, we stand firm in our commitment to justice, accountability, and the well-being of our community.
