During my son's soccer game this weekend, I overheard something deeply troubling. Our Merced United  President, Jovan, was making disparaging remarks about parents and coaches, labeling us as "entitled" and openly criticizing other  board members to a coach. This comes from someone who holds a leadership position meant to foster community spirit, support, and inclusivity. Such conduct is utterly unacceptable and damaging to the ethos of the organization.

Our community thrives on mutual respect and collaboration. We trust that those in leadership positions will uphold these values, creating a welcoming environment for all players,coaches and parent's. Jovan's behavior not only undermines this trust but also casts a shadow over the role parents like me play in supporting this club. Without our financial contributions, the club wouldn’t be where it is today. As parents and stakeholders, we deserve to have leaders who respect us and our involvement.

The president’s role is crucial for setting the tone and direction of the club. If the current leadership is questioning our integrity and contribution, then it's time for a change. We need someone who genuinely wants to create a positive community experience, listens to concerns, and builds bridges rather than walls.

We are calling for Jovan to step down from his position as President. This isn't just about a single incident; it's about reshaping the leadership to align with the community's ideals. Let’s ensure our community is led by someone who values every member and upholds the standards we expect.
