After hearing for the last 12+ months that the district is on the verge of a financial cliff, what was done to course correct? The community deserves transparency and accountability from those in charge of our school district. Questions about the health of D21’s budget have been asked and unanswered. Proposed/Adopted 2023/24 budget had a $1M reserve. A $1.5M loan to break even is a $2.5M variance from the approved budget. It is unknown at this time if that is the whole financial picture.   

A lack of transparency, combined with an unwillingness to change, inflated district office budgets and lucrative contracts for D21 top administrators: these are all actions, taken by leadership that put our district and its students in financial peril. 

Our children's education and future are at stake due to mismanagement and lack of proactive measures. It's time for new leadership that can steer our district towards financial stability and educational excellence.

NWCSD21 has faced several years of chaos  with high staff turnover, bullying and increasing violence in the classroom from students toward staff and other students. There is a lack of adequate mental and behavioral health services in D21 to adequately support the educational, emotional and physical well-being of students and staff despite pleas from staff and parents for over a year. The community's children have already suffered disruptions in their education, alongside the loss of beloved teachers. Severe budget cuts will affect them more.

If current leadership remains in place and continue to cause destruction, D21 loses more. Continuing on this pathway will ruin our district for a generation, if not more. We need leadership who will be transparent about where we are. We need leadership who put children first.
