The University of Tennessee, under the governance of Donde Plowman and her administration, has been under fire due to allegations of keeping sexual assault offenders on campus, threatening the safety and well-being of other students. It is distressing for students and parents alike to know that despite such grave accusations, no substantial actions have been taken to rectify the situation. According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center, one in five women and one in sixteen men are sexually assaulted while in college, and such statistics should not be amplified by universities condoning such behavior. The students of the University should be provided with a feeling of security, not fear. We demand an immediate change in administration to restore trust and to primarily ensure the safety of all University of Tennessee students.
