An American flag with a swastika was found displayed inside the Capitol Hill office of Rep. Dave Taylor from Ohio. A staff member appeared in a virtual meeting with the altered flag clearly visible behind him. The swastika is not just a hateful symbol. It represents one of the darkest chapters in human history, linked to genocide, white supremacy, and violent extremism.

This symbol has no place in Congress. Whether this was an act of sabotage or something more troubling, the public deserves answers and accountability. Rep. Taylor says he condemned the image and asked for an investigation. But that is not enough.

Members of Congress are held to high standards because they represent the American people. Allowing a Nazi-altered American flag to be present in a government office shows either a dangerous lack of oversight or a deeply disturbing failure in judgment. Either way, it should not be ignored.

We call on the House of Representatives to remove Rep. Dave Taylor from office if he or anyone on his staff is found responsible. We also demand criminal charges for the defacement of the American flag with a symbol of hate. This must be treated seriously. Anything less sends a message that swastikas and hate can be brushed aside in the halls of power.

The House Ethics Committee must investigate. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson must act. The U.S. Capitol Police must fully report their findings. And if Rep. Taylor is found to be negligent or complicit in any way, he must go.

This is not about politics. It is about what kind of country we want to live in. A swastika in Congress cannot be tolerated. Sign now to demand action.
