We, the residents of Sunrise Pointe Apartments in Waco, TX, have been living through a challenging time. For over a week and a half, we have been without gas and hot water. This has forced us to seek alternative arrangements for basic needs such as bathing and cooking. Many of us have had to shower at the homes of family and friends or eat out every day due to our inability to cook at home.

The financial impact has been significant. On average, each resident has spent over $300 on food alone during this period - an unexpected expense that many can ill afford. Moreover, groceries purchased with the intention of cooking at home have spoiled due to lack of gas for cooking.

Our apartments are no longer fully functional homes but merely places where we sleep. This is not what we signed up for when we chose Sunrise Pointe Apartments as our residence.

We believe it's only fair that our rent be pro-rated for this period when essential services were unavailable through no fault of ours but due to management's failure in providing these basic amenities. Or finding solutions for residents.

We call upon all residents affected by this situation and empathetic citizens who understand our plight, please sign this petition demanding that Sunrise Pointe Apartments adjust our rent accordingly for the inconvenience caused by their negligence in providing essential services.
