This resident has constructed a fence which is clearly in violation of our local zoning ordinances. This fence not only tarnishes the aesthetic value of our community, but also negatively impacts property values.  Malvern Borough is treasured by us all for its historical charm and pedestrian-friendly streets. The presence of this unsightly fence detracts from this ambiance that we cherish and strive to preserve. 
The right to install and maintain fences is typically governed by municipal zoning codes which define the standards for fence height, location, and aesthetics. However, this fence at egregiously breaches these regulations or permits, without any appropriate action taken thus far by our local government. When initially reported the Borough claimed that a “temporary” fence can remain in place for 180 days, to date it’s been over 200 days and the Borough refuses to take action. By allowing this to continue, the government is tacitly affecting our property values; research indicates that such zoning violations can decrease nearby property values by up to 5%. 
It's high time we exert our collective voices to implore our local government to enforce compliance, and uphold the integrity and charm of the once Olde Towne Malvern Borough as many of use remember it to be.  Please sign this petition to show your support for the enforcement of zoning ordinances in our community.
