Demand refund of 75K from Livspace
The Issue
I am launching this petition to shed light on a severe breach of trust and unethical business practices by Livspace Interiors, and to demand the immediate release of my unjustly withheld funds.
Over a year ago, I engaged Livspace to transform my living space. What began as a hopeful investment in my home has devolved into a frustrating, year-long battle against corporate apathy and unacceptable customer service.
The Sequence of Events:
The False Promise: I paid an upfront advance of INR 50,000. Livspace management explicitly assured me that this payment guaranteed a substantial discount on their interior services and, crucially, that the funds were fully redeemable against their product catalogue if I chose not to proceed.
The Cancellation: Because their final interior quote was unjustifiably high, I opted out. Absolutely no preliminary work—no measurements, no designs—was ever executed by their team.
The Inflated Alternative: Exercising my right to utilize the advance, I ordered a washing machine from the Livspace catalogue. The item was priced INR 5,000 above market value, and I was subjected to an exorbitant INR 8,000 in "handling charges." Consequently, I had to pay an additional INR 25,000, bringing my total money held by Livspace to INR 75,000.
The Failure to Deliver: Six months after placing the order, Livspace informed me that the item could not be tracked or delivered.
The Refund Runaround: Following their failure to fulfill the order, I formally requested a refund and submitted a cancelled cheque exactly as instructed. Half a year has passed since that request. Instead of processing my rightful refund, I have been met with endless delays, empty assurances, and now, complete radio silence.
This INR 75,000 is not a frivolous expenditure; it is a significant, hard-earned investment. Being ignored after months of patience and good-faith attempts to reason with their staff has left me feeling cheated and powerless against a large corporation.
This issue extends beyond my personal financial loss. If Livspace is comfortable withholding these funds and ignoring basic customer rights in my case, it is highly probable that other consumers are facing similar exploitation.
My Demands:
Immediate Restitution: A prompt and full refund of my INR 75,000.
Accountability: A formal acknowledgment from Livspace regarding this failure in service.
Policy Reform: A complete re-evaluation of Livspace’s customer service protocols and refund policies to ensure no other customer is subjected to this kind of financial hostage-taking.
Transparency, effective communication, and ethical accountability are not optional—they are the bedrock of any reputable business.
If you believe that corporations must honor their financial commitments, respect consumer rights, and treat their customers fairly, please sign this petition. Stand with me to demand that Livspace returns my outstanding funds and recommits to ethical business practices.
Sincerely Shomeek
