The Issue

India stands at a pivotal moment where the need for systemic reform in both education and governance is undeniable. The foundation of any progressive nation depends on the accessibility and quality of education, as well as the effectiveness and integrity of its governing bodies. This petition advocates for crucial changes in the Indian education system to make it more affordable, technically advanced, and practically oriented. Simultaneously, it calls for a reformation of the candidate selection process for governmental roles, ensuring that capable and well-educated individuals lead our country.

Firstly, the current education system needs an overhaul to align with the modern world's demands. India must prioritize its educational sector, providing affordable education that fosters technical and practical skills. As per the All India Survey on Higher Education, only 27% of Indians aged 18-23 are enrolled in higher education. We must improve these figures by ensuring education is affordable for all, emphasizing practical learning that equips students with the skills necessary for today’s job market. This can be achieved by government subsidies, partnerships with tech companies, and curriculum revisions that focus on 21st-century skills.

In addition to educational reforms, there is a dire need to reevaluate the governance framework. The nation should be led by individuals who have a profound understanding of political science and management. The current political landscape often results in leaders lacking essential administrative skills and ethical guidelines, which hinders national progress. As reported by The Economic Times, only 36% of Indian MPs have a graduate degree. We propose implementing a new system for selecting government candidates, where potential leaders must possess relevant educational qualifications and management expertise. This revision would bolster the administration's capacity to make informed, strategic decisions that benefit the citizenry.

Moreover, stricter regulations and accountability measures should be enforced within governmental structures to enhance transparency and efficacy. Strengthening anti-corruption laws and establishing independent bodies to monitor governmental actions would foster a more transparent and efficient administration.

By reforming both the education system and the method of selecting government officials, India can ensure a future governed by knowledge, capability, and integrity. Let us join hands to demand these essential changes and build a better nation where education and governance work hand in hand for the country’s progress and prosperity.

Sign this petition to urge Indian policymakers to implement these significant reforms in education and governance for a brighter future.
