Demand Protection of the Front Range Forests!

The Issue
Whether one is barefoot, feeling the ground and coolness beneath them, or simply taking in a breath of fresh air as they gaze upon Mother Nature's vast beauty, we cannot emphasize enough of the importance towards protecting what Mother Earth provides for each and every single organism that has the blessing to witness and experience her Divine perfection. When we find the opportunities to spend time within the realm of Nature, we have the ability to gather insight and find healing/restoration to help us continue moving forward, while helping us find more inner peace within this fast-paced, ever changing world. Knowing this, the logging and mining activities on the public lands and national forests of Colorado deeply trouble me. These activities not only disrupt our personal connections to the Earth but also pose severe threats to the ecological balance, wildlife habitats, and the overall health of our planet.
Colorado's lands are a sanctuary for countless species of flora and fauna. They provide a vibrant ecosystem that supports and sustains life. The continued exploitation of these lands for logging and mining disrupts this natural balance, leading to habitat destruction, loss of biodiversity, and environmental degradation. According to the U.S. Forest Service, over 50% of Colorado's land mass is designated as forest land, and much of it is open to logging and mineral extraction. Right now as we speak, there is a “Big Four” logging scheme that’s planned to wipe out nearly 500,000 acres of forest within the Front Range regions, all national and public land, and is aimed to start this upcoming spring season! Some of these huge logging schemes include “The Pikes Peak Vegetation Management Project”, which is scheduled to destroy nearly 195,000 acres, and the “Lower North South Vegetation Management”, set to demolish habitats in the "Pike National Forest", 30 miles southwest of Denver in Jefferson, Douglas, Park, and El Paso Counties, which involves 116,600 acres of public lands logging. And these are just a few of the huge projects that are lined up to change the landscape of Colorado, forever.
Dating back to early 2025, under the Trump Administration, the U.S Forest Service appointed Tom Schultz as the 21st chief, declaring “They could not have picked a better person to lead the agency", Schultz was the former Idaho timber executive, and with our current government stripping away Forest Protection rights for Timber and Mining companies to access more public and federal land, there's zero coincidence that Colorado's beauty is now being sold for a price tag for those who have invested in Timber and Mining corporations. The media within Colorado has tried to censor and cause a blackout with these upcoming logging motives because "Big Business" knows these forests bring the People and Communities of Colorado together, and if any news were to be leaked within the main stream outlets, the consequence would be a peaceful uprising and resistance towards these companies who plan to alter the landscape of Colorado forever. Back in December of 2025, the U.S Forest Service only provided residents a 2 week platform for "public comments", yet none of the main news outlets headlined this event, and that is why I've composed this petition, to provide the People of Colorado an actual opportunity to advocate for the protection of the land for generations to come.
We are at a critical juncture where our actions today will determine the future well-being of not only our local communities but our planet as a whole. There is an urgent need to shift to more sustainable practices that prioritize conservation and the responsible usage of natural resources. By ceasing the logging and mining in Colorado's public areas and national forests, we can protect these precious ecosystems for future generations, ensuring the continuation of their vital role in maintaining environmental stability.
I urge the Colorado state government, environmental agencies, and relevant stakeholders to take immediate action to halt these harmful practices. It is essential to implement and enforce stricter regulations that preserve our lush lands and life-giving forests. Together, we can make a difference and protect the sanctity of these irreplaceable natural spaces.
Please sign this petition to voice your support for the cessation of logging and mining activities on Colorado's public lands and national forests.
