Lafayette Park, a popular local facility, is now 20 years old. Over the past two decades, our community's needs have grown and evolved, but the park has sadly not kept pace. Today it is alarmingly outdated, not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and fails to meet current safety standards. Additionally, it is situated in an area of our town that is currently underserved by community facilities. This is a grave disservice to our residents, especially when taking into account that the funds for the necessary improvements have already been secured via bonds. We urge the town council to take immediate action and vote in favor of moving forward with the improvements for Lafayette Park.
