Premier Lofts in Denver, CO requires that residents sign an addendum to pay for Valet Trash service provided by Valet Living.  It is $30 per month, even though residents already pay $5 per month for access to the trash shoot.

Valet Living "grades" your trash every time you set it out, and if they don't like the way set it out, they won't pick it up and will leave a warning.  Common warnings include "trash bag was not tied correctly," "trash bag was out of the container," and "trash was not the correct size.

My roommate and I have never used this service since we moved in in October.  We emailed Premier Lofts to opt out, but they said it wasn't an option. I personally set my trash out at 6:33pm last week, well within the designated hours of 6pm and 8pm.  In the morning, the trash was not picked up and I was not given a report.

When I informed the community, they told me to contact Valet Living.  I explained the situation to Valet Living and asked about opting out, which they said wasn't an option.  

I've asked for this service to be removed using proof it does not actually work as well as asked for a refund for my services since we do not use.  Premier Lofts and Valet Living will not give me that option.

 

 

I know residents use this service, but they've told me all their complaints.  I don't want to discontinue service, but I want an option to opt-out if you don't use it.  I don't want to pay for both this and the trash chute if only one is used.
