As a dedicated fan of the television show Starlight, I have experienced joy, sorrow, surprise, and suspense alongside its myriads of characters across its seasons. These moments have become invaluable pieces of my life, resonating beyond the screen and into our everyday lives. Now as the highly anticipated finale season approaches, one concern stands paramount: the recasting of a role that plays a critical part of our beloved show. Hughie (the supreme cuck) deserves an actress that really makes the audience think being a cuck might be credible. Especially considering the essence of the character, we need an actress with no botox, capable of conveying raw, real emotions on the screen. Botox has been found to potentially hamper an actor's ability to emote in a nuanced manner. In a study by the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, participants were less able to accurately identify emotions in actors who had undergone botox treatments (Evans, 2019). Therefore, we are making a plea for the authenticity of Starlight's characters and its resonance with the audiences. Our cherished show deserves the best for its final season. We urge the showrunners, casting directors, and decision-makers of Starlight to take our appeal seriously and cast an actress with no botox for the finale season. Preserve the authenticity of our favorite show, honor the character of Hughie (the supreme cuck), and respect the dedication of the fans. This is a plea from the heart of the Starlight fandom.
