As a grandparent, I am writing this petition with heavy hearts and teary eyes. My two innocent grandchildren live in Kingsport, a city that is now haunted by a horrifying incident. Recently, an unimaginable atrocity occurred within our community; a man brutally assaulted his own child right here in Kingsport. This cruel person is now up for bond, and we firmly believe justice cannot and should not provide him this liberty. He doesn’t deserve the chance to step onto the streets where he committed this horrifying crime. We request our local law enforcement and judiciary to reconsider providing him this benefit. This is not just about one person, but the safety of all children in Kingsport, including my grandchildren. By sidelining his opportunity for bond, we could take a significant step towards denying perpetrators the freedom they don't deserve.
