Demand New York Animal Care Centers Improve Animal Welfare Practices

The Issue

As a deeply concerned New Yorker and lover of all animals, I write this petition with heartfelt distress about the New York Animal Care Centers (NYACC). This institution, which was established to protect and care for abandoned animals, is currently accused of immense and unnecessary cruelty towards innocent animals, especially dogs.

I believe it's high time NYACC takes full responsibility for the alleged harsh treatment of dogs and cats, whether young or old. These animals are victims, brought to the center through no fault of their own, abandoned by their owners, and left at the mercy of the organization’s employees and employers. No creature, whether a dog, cat, kitten or puppy, should have to endure such inhumanity.

Reports indicate that NYACC facilities in every location have participated in this disregard for animal life. Thousands of animals are alleged to be living under harsh conditions or suffering undesirable fates. There is a term for every life that breathes and feels, regardless of whether it is an animal or a human: 'sentient.' All sentient beings deserve respect, care, and protection according to the Animal Welfare Act.

The NYACC has a duty to uphold the highest standards of animal welfare. Whether these allegations are true or not, it’s clear that significant changes must occur to ensure that every animal under their care is offered a reasonable quality of life.

We have the power to push for change. By signing this petition, you can lend your voice to the forgotten and abused animals of New York. It's time we demand New York Animal Care Centers to respect the lives within their care, adhere to welfare standards, and prioritize the humane treatment of all animals in their facilities.

Please sign this petition to secure a better future for the innocent lives at the mercy of the NYACC facilities. Your signature could mean the difference between life and death for an innocent animal.
