The Issue

I'm a retired Navy Senior Chief and I've been a Navy Federal member for 21 years. I've always trusted them to have my back, but that trust has been shattered. In 2020, Navy Federal refinanced my car and paid off my old lender. I was relieved to think everything was taken care of. However, due to their negligence, they never filed the necessary paperwork with Washington State. Now, five years later, I'm unable to sell my car because of their mistake.

I've spent over 27 hours trying to resolve this issue, only to be met with frustration and disappointment. A supervisor admitted in writing that Navy Federal erred in their administrative duties, yet they refuse to provide me with a simple letter that acknowledges their fault. After 21 years of loyalty and consistent service, it feels like a betrayal. Military families, who already sacrifice so much, deserve better from those institutions we rely on.

This isn't just my story, it's potentially a story shared by many military families who might face similar bureaucratic hurdles. Navy Federal has a responsibility to ensure their errors don't become the burdens of their members.

We call on Navy Federal Credit Union to uphold their accountability by providing clear documentation and resolution when their administrative oversights obstruct military members from managing their finances and assets. This isn't just about fixing a current problem; it's about preventing future ones for countless trusted members.

Join me in demanding Navy Federal realize the serious implications of their oversights. Sign this petition to ensure they acknowledge their mistakes when they happen, allowing members like myself and countless others the ability to navigate our lives and financial responsibilities without unnecessary obstacles. Military families deserve transparency, support, and fairness. Let’s make our voices heard.
