Demand Multinationals to Cease Economic Isolation of Nigeria

Demand Multinationals to Cease Economic Isolation of Nigeria
The Issue
Nigeria, a nation with one of the world's largest populations, has a story that cannot be overlooked. It has faced centuries of exploitation, beginning from the traumatic era of the transatlantic slave trade through to the colonial and neo-colonial epochs. Amidst these circumstances were, and still are individuals who desire nothing more than an honest living. However, the past and present have riddled Nigeria with negative stereotypes such as scams and fraud; this has led to discriminatory treatment, isolation, and stigmatization from global working systems that seemingly turn a blind eye to the struggle. Now, multinationals like ClickBank, Digistore24, and Paypal continue this pattern, executing actions that obstruct Nigeria's access to international economies. PayPal placed an outright ban on all Nigerians for quite a long time. It only began offering its services to Nigerians in 2015 with a ruthless policy that only allows them to take money away from the country, while Nigerians are still not allowed to receive funds through the same channel.
The stereotype that Nigerians are all scammers is misleading and extremely unfair because similar crimes occur globally, often at even greater scales, without assigning such a label to an entire country. The average Nigerian has little tolerance for theft, and despite the challenges, the majority remain well-cultured, hardworking, and resilient people who contribute positively to society.
This petition calls for an immediate halt to this detrimental treatment. It's important to react against such stereotypical stigmatization and for these multinationals to recognize the millions of hardworking and largely jobless Nigerians eager to make a substantial economy. As a developing country, Nigeria's GDP is expected to grow in 2025, according to World Bank estimates. That can only increase if international economic doors are opened.
By signing this petition, you join in the call for demanding an end to the unjust economic isolation of Nigeria. You stand with the millions of Nigerians looking to make a legitimate living, shattering stereotypes and propagating the necessary change. Please, for the pride of a population and the development of a nation, let your voice be heard. Sign the petition.
