The Issue

I am a regular consumer of Mission Tortilla Chips, indulging in strip chips' delicious taste every day. However, recently, I have felt a shadow of disappointment creep in with each bite. The problem lies not with the chips themselves, but with the packaging in which they are sold. Mission Tortilla Chips has replaced their traditional paper bags with plastic ones. As a 2 year lover of both the product and the environment, I see the consequences of this decision clearly. The shift to plastic has adverse environmental implications: plastic takes 1000 years to decompose in landfills, while paper takes only 2-6 weeks. Furthermore, plastic production emits large quantities of greenhouse gases, contributing notably to climate change. This switch is troubling, particularly since companies should be working toward becoming more eco-friendly in our current times of environmental crisis. We cannot stand by as our consumption leaves a deadly footprint on our planet. Therefore, I'm petitioning to compel Mission Tortilla Chips to revert to their earlier, more responsible paper bag packaging. Years from now, I want to be able to enjoy my favorite snack without the guilt of knowing it's contributing to environmental damage. Please join me in asking for this change. Sign this petition today. Let Mission Tortilla Chips know that our planet, and their product, are both worth preserving in sustainable ways.
