Demand Min. Konda Surekha Retract and Apologize to Ms. Samantha and Women & Men of TFI

The Issue

We are deeply distressed by Mrs. Konda Surekha (Minister of Endowments, Environment & Forests Government of Telangana) using a fellow actor Ms. Samantha Prabhu's personal life as well as other women in the Telugu Film Industry (TFI), to further her own political agenda. The misrepresentation and misuse of Ms. Samantha’s personal matters as well as well as a few other women and men of TFI for public manipulation is not just unacceptable, but deeply disrespectful.

Ms. Samantha is a highly respected individual who has contributed significantly to the Telugu entertainment industry, inspiring many with her strength and sheer positivity. Any individual’s personal choices concerning matters of marriage and divorce, are their own and should never be subjected to public scrutiny or political discourse. Under no circumstances should such deeply personal issues be exploited for political gain or manipulation.

Minister Konda Surekha has publicly invoked the names of Ms. Samantha, Mr. Naga Chaitanya and Mr. Nagarjuna and other influential people in the Telugu film industry (TFI) without their consent, discussing deeply personal matters in a public forum for her own political gain. This action by Minister Konda Surekha is an alarming demonstration of the widespread issue of women's lives being exploited for political benefits. It's a gross violation of personal privacy and basic human dignity, reflecting a toxic pattern in our political landscape where cheap popularity trumps respect for individual privacy.

We demand Minister Konda Surekha publicly retract her statements made on Ms. Samantha, Mr. Naga Chaitanya, Mr. Nagarjuna and a few other women of TFI and, admit the misinformation propagated for political gains and make a public apology. By doing so, she will be taking a step towards rectifying her wrongs, potentially paving the way for a political culture where respect for personal life and dignity trumps exploitative tactics.

Join the ‘Voice of Women’ in demanding fairness, respect, and truth in our public discourse. SIGN NOW to safeguard the dignity of one woman today and create a precedent for respectful communication in politics tomorrow.
