During a time where unprecedented casualties are occurringas a result of clear violations of international law, Meta has been suppressing and “shadow banning” nonviolent pro-Palestinian speech.  This is not a “bug” and is not only an infringement on our right to freedom of speech but also a hindrance to our efforts in raising awareness about the ongoing crisis.

According to Amnesty International, over 8,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 7, 2023, including at least 3,000 children. Despite these alarming statistics, there seems to be a deliberate attempt at Meta to silence those who speak out against these injustices.

We believe in open dialogue and peaceful discourse as essential tools for change. By suppressing nonviolent pro-Palestinian voices, we are denied the opportunity for constructive conversation that could lead towards resolution and peace.

We urge Meta not just to lift this ban but also actively promote free speech within its community. Let us remember that silence in the face of injustice equates complicity. We must stand together against any form of suppression or censorship.
