Demand Mercy Health System End Unfair Labor Practices

The Issue

Medical workers at Mercy East , represented by UAW 95, have been on strike since July 2, 2025 over Mercy Health System’s refusal to pay for better wages, affordable health benefits, and building security.  Wages currently do not keep pace with the cost of living, health benefits have become unaffordable, and workers concerns about building security have been ignored.  Mercy management is refusing to be held accountable to its employees by putting commitments for better wages, benefits, and security into writing, creating an atmosphere of distrust.  Additionally, Mercy Health System is refusing to come back to the table and is engaging in unfair labor practices by threatening dismissal and to take away benefits from non-represented employees from other parts of the healthcare system if they do not cross the picket line at Mercy East.

Mercy Health System's actions are not about providing a fair contract; they're about union busting.  It demonstrates that the leaders of MHS have no respect for the work of their employees.

Healthcare workers at Mercy East have been on strike for over 2 months.  We demand that Mercy Health System come back to the table and work with the striking UAW workers of Mercy East to provide contractual increases in wages, lowered healthcare premiums, and building security.  This will restore quality service to patients.
