The Issue

I have been a recipient of the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) for an extended period due to struggles with depression, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), among other issues. Like many others dealing with similar conditions, PIP has been crucial in ensuring my well-being. Hence, I was shocked and disappointed when Liz Kendall, the Deputy Prime Minister, proposed to terminate PIP, forcing people with severe disabilities into work.

According to the Office of National Statistics, around 7.7 million people of working age reported a disability in 2019 in the UK, equivalent to 18% of the working age population. The removal of PIP would imply ignoring the struggles these people face daily and pushing them towards potential harm. This lack of understanding and empathy is not what we expect from a person in Liz Kendall's position.

We believe in the dignity and rights of all individuals, regardless of their physical or mental conditions, and urge you to join us in taking a stand against this proposal. It's time to demand Liz Kendall's resignation to preserve the rights and well-being of millions of UK citizens. Please sign this petition.
