If there’s one thing that the 2020 United States of America election has proved to us is its inability to professionally conduct its ballot counting process. There’s has been too many accusations of erroneous numbers in states, delayed result, and possibly fraudulent votes casted. This is all topped off with the media, press, and social media companies each giving their version and interpretations of the results. This is simply not acceptable for a country that considers itself a global leader.

In today’s modern world there are billions of dollars being transmitted every day using digital means. And by this I mean banks, corporations, hedge funders, and cryptocurrency marketplaces across the globe are using online databases which are secure, reliable, and 100% anonymous yet traceable if need be.

There is a part of me that believes no branch of government wants to give its citizens that much transparency. Remember government comes from the words govern - “to rule” and ment - Latin derivative for mentality. In short Mind control. The old ways are dangerous to our democracy as it allows for manupulation of voting, and I feel we the people must demand an end to it.

In my proposal I would like to call for an end to these Stone Age ways of counting ballots. This country is more than capable of digitalizing ergo streamlining the voting process in one way or another. We should have online voting, whether a phone app, computer, or in person digital voting booths. It could function in separate different ways but one way would be to have it link with registered voters Social Security Numbers, and whoever has casted a vote can go on a public blockchain.

A Blockchain is a system of recording information in a way that makes it difficult or impossible to change, hack, or cheat the system. A blockchain is essentially a digital ledger. 

This would be advantageous to the entire process of voting as registered voters would have the ability to easily check the status of their vote, and it would provide up to the second updates on who’s leading in county and state elections.

I think the time to modernize is now! We can do this if we push back against the governments traditional and frankly outdated process. It leaves too many questions unanswered and leaves openings for voter suppression.

In conclusion if you have the same feelings as I do about the whole ballot counting process then please support this petition. We need transparency and truth provided on a platform that is unbiased and gives us data results in real time.
