Demand Justice in the Child Sexual Assault Case Against Dallas Neurologist

Demand Justice in the Child Sexual Assault Case Against Dallas Neurologist
The Issue
In October 2024, Dr. Samir Shah, a neurologist based in Dallas, was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a child. After his arrest, the Texas Medical Board suspended his medical license. The case was then sent to a grand jury in Tarrant County.
In May 2025, the grand jury quietly declined to indict him.
There was no public explanation. There was no trial. There was no transparency. Now, a doctor who was formally charged with sexually abusing a child could return to practicing medicine.
We are demanding justice in this case.
We call on the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office to fully review how this case was handled. If new evidence exists, or if the original presentation to the grand jury was incomplete, the case must be brought back. The public has a right to know whether a serious allegation was dismissed without full and fair consideration.
We also call on the Texas Medical Board to keep Dr. Shah’s license suspended. Before any talk of reinstatement, there must be a full, public hearing that includes input from experts, patients, and survivors.
This is not just about one doctor. This is about whether people in power are held to the same standards as everyone else. When child sexual abuse charges are dismissed in secret, it sends a message that victims do not matter and that public safety comes second to professional status.
A grand jury’s decision not to indict does not mean someone is innocent. It means the process stopped without a trial. And in Texas, where grand juries operate in secrecy, families are often left with no answers and no closure.
We demand a public review of this case. We demand clarity from those in charge. And we demand that the safety of children comes before the reputation of any medical professional.
Sign this petition to demand justice in the case against Dr. Samir Shah. No child’s voice should be silenced behind closed doors.
