Demand Justice for Violations of Due Process in Mississippi's Child Protection System

The Issue

We are Mississippi mothers and victims of Child Protection Services (CPS) corruption. We experienced judicial misconduct, collusion among judges, Guardian ad Litems (GALs), prosecutors, and agents, and suffered egregious violations of due process. We were wrongly accused of neglect and/or abuse, and our precious children were taken from us. We have been victims in the very system that presents itself as a safeguard for vulnerable families. Our stories are but a handful among the thousands more that languish in silence.

We contend that such violations of due process are a heinous affront to the very core of justice. Aspects of the due process include the rights to be heard publicly, to obtain counsel, to be free from self-incrimination and cruel and unusual punishment. CPS has been noted several times for their lack of compliance in a plethora of such rights. However, these violations are often overlooked due to the lack of documentation, publicization, investigation, and prosecution.

It is estimated that close to 85% of all children removed from their homes by the CPS in Mississippi were in situations no worse than that of children left in their homes (Source: National Coalition for Child Protection Reform, 2016). Facts like these underscore the urgency of reforming CPS and the judiciary which gives it a free rein.

We earnestly plead for your support to ensure that violations of due process are not just documented, but are widely publicized, scrutinized, and brought forth for prosecution. We must work together to restore justice and ensure that no family suffers the devastating consequences of CPS corruption again. Please lend your support to our cause - we need accountability and justice. It is time to sign our petition: demand justice for victims of CPS and judicial misconduct in Mississippi.
