This reality is not only horrifying but demonstrates how dire the need for justice is. The perpetrators of such heinous racially motivated hate crimes must be held accountable. Existing disparities in society only exacerbate the impact of such horrific acts. As reported by the Bureau of Justice Statistics, in the United States alone, there were about 204,600 incidents of racial hate crimes in 2019. This is a global issue—racial hatred transcends borders.
