As a survivor of sexual abuse, I understand the profound pain and struggle that comes with such an experience. It is even more disheartening when the perpetrator is a person of influence, seemingly untouchable due to their connections with high-ranking officials. This is the case for many victims in Togo who have suffered sexual, mental and physical abuse at the hands of Komlan Amouzou Midodji, alias Papson Moutité

The trauma inflicted by this individual has affected countless sisters, daughters, friends and children in our community. Yet, despite these atrocities, there seems to be no justice served due to his alleged connections within the government.

It's time we demand accountability from our leaders. We call upon the Togolese Government and lawmakers to take immediate action against Komlan Amouzou Midodji, alias Papson Moutité for his heinous acts. We need them to stand up for victims' rights and ensure that all perpetrators are held accountable regardless of their social status or political affiliations.

According to UNICEF data (2017), one in four girls experiences sexual violence before age 18 worldwide - a statistic that is likely higher considering many cases go unreported due to fear or lack of resources. This reality underscores how crucial it is for governments everywhere - including ours - to take strong action against such crimes.

We cannot allow any more lives be marred by this man's actions or those like him who hide behind power while causing harm without consequence. Let us stand together as one voice demanding justice for all victims of abuse in Togo!
