The Issue

Our beloved and bright Tiana, an honor student at Alabama State University, was taken from us far too soon. Passionate about biochemistry and only 21 years of age, she was violently stabbed to death on July 14th, 2024. The person responsible, Damarius (Aaliyah) Winborn, known to have a history of anger and violent behavior, remains free and uninvestigated by the Montgomery Police.

Countless families like ours have been grossly ignored and marginalized, with their taken loved ones forgotten. This is completely unacceptable. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. In Alabama, a state with a high violent crime rate of 524 crimes per 100,000 residents in 2024, we need our system to work diligently, uphold the law, and be accountable for its failure to protect its citizens. We are demanding the Montgomery Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office fulfill their duty. To bring Damarius Winborn to justice and ensure a proper investigation is carried out as soon as possible. We cannot remain silent. For Tiana, and for all the victims of unchecked violence, we ask that you support us in demanding justice and calling for accountability.

We remind all signers of this petition that we are not just fighting for justice in Tiana's case but for every victim who has been overlooked or brushed aside by our system. Together we can push for change and prevent other families from suffering.

Help us show that as a community, we care for every life and memory, and that the Police Department needs to do their job. Sign this petition today and demand justice for Tiana and all silenced victims.
