Demand Justice for the Dog Burned Alive in Queens

Demand Justice for the Dog Burned Alive in Queens
The Issue
What happened on the corner of 128th Street and 116th Avenue in Queens is beyond cruelty — it’s evil.
A man was caught on camera dragging a lifeless dog down the street. Moments later, he poured an accelerant over the dog and set it on fire. Then he walked away, leaving the animal to burn on the sidewalk like it didn’t matter.
This wasn’t just animal abuse. It was a deliberate act of torture. And it happened in our neighborhoods — where kids ride their bikes, where people walk their dogs, where we expect to feel safe.
Right now, this man is still out there. The NYPD Animal Cruelty Squad is investigating, and the ASPCA is assisting with a necropsy. But we can’t just wait quietly. The video is public. The fear is real. And the justice system must act — swiftly and seriously.
We’re calling on Mayor Eric Adams, the NYPD, and Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz to prioritize this case and prosecute the suspect to the fullest extent of the law once apprehended. New York’s animal cruelty laws make this a felony — and it must be treated as one.
If this man could do this to a defenseless dog, what else is he capable of? Public safety is at stake. Accountability is overdue.
This dog didn’t have a voice. But we do.
We demand action, justice, and consequences — now.
