Demand Justice for RGKAR Kolkata Resident Doctor - A Nationwide Stand

The Issue

We, working as doctors in India, are reeling from the shock and pain caused by the brutal rape and murder of a resident doctor at RGKAR Kolkataon August 9. This incident shakes us to our core, invoking a fear for our safety and stirring an outcry for justice.

Doctors, whether working privately or as part of the government sector, devote their lives to serving the community. We work long shifts, often in high stress and life-threatening scenarios. Our commitment should be reciprocated with security and respect, not fear. With the recent event in Kolkata, we find ourselves questioning the security measures in place in workplaces across the nation. We cannot remain silent in the face of such heinous crimes.

We humbly request all the doctors of India, both private practitioners and government employees, to unite and pen down on 15 August. This will be a peaceful and dignified display of solidarity, a unified demand for justice for our colleague, and a collective plea for increased safety measures in all medical workplaces.

This is an urgent cry for safety and justice. We urge every medical professional across the country to join us in this fight. We cannot allow such violence to go unpunished, and we cannot allow the fear to become the norm in our medical community.

Please, sign this petition. Stand with us as we demand justice for our colleague and safer workplace conditions for all doctors. Let us assure the nation that medical professionals deserve to work without the constant fear of violent assaults. Your signature will serve as a powerful message that the time for change is now. Let us come together and make a difference.
