My name is Paige Bennett, and my family has been devastated by a broken system. Child & Family Services (CFS) in St. Albert, Alberta has wrongfully intervened in our lives, disregarding our rights, and allowing harm to continue without accountability.

We have experienced:

• Physical abuse involving a Child Services worker.
• Sexual assault against me by a CFS worker, ignored by police.
• Emotional coercion and manipulation by CFS workers, creating fear and distress for my child.

Racial discrimination and systemic abuse against our family.

The Bigger Picture: CFS and Systemic Harm

The Canadian child welfare system has a long, documented history of harming Indigenous families:

• Over 52% of children in foster care are Indigenous, despite making up less than 8% of the child population. (Source: Census 2021, Statistics Canada)
• Indigenous children are 11 times more likely to be removed from their homes than non-Indigenous children.
• Survivors of the ‘Sixties Scoop’ and Residential Schools still experience trauma from government-led family separations—and it’s still happening today.

CFS claims to protect children, but their actions are causing more harm than good.

We demand immediate action:

✅ A fair and transparent review of our case.
✅ An investigation into misconduct and corruption within CFS.
✅ Accountability for all workers involved in harm and injustice.

No family should be subjected to fear, manipulation, and separation without just cause. We need your support to hold CFS and the government accountable.
