I was in Annapolis today lobbying Delegates to support the SOL legislation, HB1 and SB686, when we stumbled across the Governor of Maryland walking through the halls and encouraging many if the interns - a nice scene.  When he was finished, I approached him, told him I was a survivor and asked if he could support our bill.  He stopped cold and gave me his full undivided attention. Not only did he say that he was excited about this bill, but he thanked me for all of the work that we have been doing and then embraced me and then just gave me a long understanding look. It was quite a moving experience. Clearly we have his backing and I truly believe he was not just embracing me but ALL of the survivors.  It was a chance encounter but definitely one for the ages.
