The Issue

My father, born in 1944, toiled relentlessly throughout his life. His hard work and dedication for over three decades, alongside his brother and my mother’s sister, secured a precious piece of land in Pirana, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. This land was supposed to be our family’s legacy. However, this cherished inheritance is now under threat.

Before my father's untimely passing in 2016, he placed his unwavering trust in his family, believing they would honor his legacy. Unfortunately, Asad Ali Abidali Momin, who initially promised my father that he would sell the land with transparency, later deceived my father by wrongfully acquiring  signature and initiating construction without a full and fair sale. This betrayal has deeply wounded our family. Asad Ali passed away five months ago, further complicating the matter. He transferred the land’s title to Rumana Asad Momin despite the payments not being fully settled.

Injustice continues as we grapple to reclaim an inheritance that’s rightfully ours. This situation is not merely about land; it’s about preserving my father's life’s work and ensuring justice. Families in Jamalpur, Tajpur, Ahmedabad, and beyond might have faced similar injustices, where what was rightfully theirs was usurped under a facade of false promises and misuse of trust.

We urge concerned authorities in Ahmedabad and Gujarat to re-examine the transactions surrounding our land and facilitate a fair and transparent investigation. Our demand is not just for ourselves but to set a precedent that trust and hard-earned legacies can’t be stolen with fraudulent actions.

We seek support from every compassionate individual who believes in upholding justice. Help us shed light on this injustice, and prevent it from recurring in any family. Please sign this petition to aid our pursuit of justice and help restore what rightfully belongs to us.
