The Issue

Henry Nowak was 18 years old. He was studying accountancy at Southampton University. On 3 December 2025, he was stabbed five times in the street - and when police arrived, they handcuffed him as he lay dying.

On body-worn camera footage, you can hear Henry telling the officers he's been stabbed. An officer replies: "Don't think you have, mate."

His killer lied to police at the scene. They believed him. Henry died.

Vickrum Digwa has now been convicted of murder and sentenced to life. The lie he told that night has been completely rejected by a jury and a judge. Henry was innocent. He was the victim. And the officers who were supposed to help him failed him completely.

The IOPC is investigating - but the officers are currently being treated as witnesses, not suspects. One has already resigned. The other three are still serving.

That is not good enough.

Over 55,000 people have signed this petition because what happened to Henry cannot be allowed to quietly disappear. We are calling on the Crown Prosecution Service and the Home Secretary to act on three specific charges:

  • Manslaughter
  • Criminal negligence
  • Dereliction of duty

We are also demanding that the full IOPC report is published publicly in its entirety when complete - with no redactions that protect the officers from scrutiny.

Henry's father Mark has said his family should not have to fight for the truth anymore. He's right. They shouldn't.

Sign and share. Don't let this be forgotten.
