The Issue

As a parent and a fierce advocate of justice, I am deeply troubled by the tragic death of Henry Nowak. This young man has been the victim of a false arrest that led to his untimely death – a tragedy born out of myopic policing and a biased approach to incidents involving minorities and white individuals, which prematurely favours minority parties without establishing the complete facts. Henry Nowak deserved better.

On the day of the incident, three officers attended the scene where Henry lost his life. Despite the evident circumstances, justice has not been served, and those responsible for his death have not faced appropriate legal action. It is imperative that these officers are held accountable for their actions and are tried for manslaughter with the Chief Constable.  The failure to do so not only undermines the trust in our justice system but continues to perpetuate a dangerous precedent for law enforcement interactions with the public.

We must ensure that the policing policies and procedures are amended to prevent such tragic incidents in the future. This includes implementing thorough investigations before making arrests, instituting unbiased training programs that equip officers with the cultural competence necessary to manage situations involving racial dynamics responsibly, and ensuring accountability for all acts of misconduct.

Let us not allow Henry's death to be in vain. We should stand up against such injustices, demanding the truth and justice that Henry and his family deserve. We cannot bring Henry back, but we can take a stand to ensure that our law enforcement serves and protects all members of our community justly and without prejudice.

By signing this petition, you are demanding accountability and reform. Let us pave the way for justice for Henry and ensure safety and fairness for future generations. Sign this petition and be part of the change that promotes truth, justice, and equity.
