The Issue

Twelve dogs were deliberately dumped in a Largo, Florida park because they were sick with deadly parvovirus. Instead of receiving medical care, these dogs were abandoned to suffer and die.

One of those dogs, a puppy named Frosty, later passed away. In addition to parvovirus, Frosty had injuries consistent with blunt force trauma. He was taken in by Jaime Bunny McKnight of Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue, who stepped in to care for him.

Jaime was holding Frosty when his little body could no longer fight. A necropsy confirmed that Frosty’s back leg was snapped in half, his jaw was dislocated, and he suffered perforations to his small intestine caused by blunt force trauma.

Jaime continues to care for the surviving dogs, all of whom are currently receiving veterinary treatment.

The individuals responsible, Maryann Gamble and Fred Gamble, have been arrested and each charged with 12 counts of felony animal cruelty. During the investigation, other deceased dogs were also discovered at their residence, further underscoring the severity and ongoing nature of the abuse.

Under Florida law, each count of aggravated felony animal cruelty is punishable by up to five years in prison. This means the potential penalties reflect just how serious these crimes are meant to be.

We, the undersigned, are calling for prosecution to the fullest extent of the law by the state attorney's office.  Frosty’s suffering — and the suffering of every dog involved — must not be minimized or forgotten. This case must result in firm accountability and meaningful consequences.

Please sign and stand with us for Justice for Frosty and all the other dogs these individuals harmed.

On December 19th, 2025 nine puppies and two adult female dogs were found abandoned in Taylor Park at 1100 Eighth Ave. SW. Law Enforcement was able to trace the dogs back to Fred Gamble and MaryAnne Halahuni Gamble. On Friday, January 9th, 2026, we formally charged the Gambles with 12 counts of Felony Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. Other charges are pending as the investigation continues.
