Demand justice for Eric Duprey: Maximum sentence for "The Cooler Killer" Sgt. Erik Duran

Demand justice for Eric Duprey: Maximum sentence for "The Cooler Killer" Sgt. Erik Duran
The Issue
I am Pearl Velez, Eric Duprey’s partner, and I am reaching out to demand justice for the father of my children, who was taken from us by Sgt. Erik Duran, also known as the "Cooler Killer." Eric was undeniably our family's rock, providing stability, love, and hope. Watching his life end so abruptly has turned into a never-ending nightmare for our family. We can no longer sit idly by as 'Police Privilege' threatens to overshadow justice.
On March 19, the sentencing of Sgt. Erik Duran will take place, and we demand that Attorney General Letitia James and Judge Guy Mitchell enforce the maximum 15-year sentence. We cannot allow the perpetrator to escape the full measure of justice due to his status as a police officer. This is not just a call for sentencing — it's a stand against systemic bias that perpetuates inequality and injustice for countless families like ours every day.
Our fight transcends a courtroom and enters the broader struggle against social injustices. This is our Black History Month assignment — to ensure history does not repeat itself. To ensure our lives do not continue to be undervalued and disrespected. By demanding the maximum penalty, we assert that the justice system should be impartial and that every life, regardless of ethnicity or status, is valuable.
With 25,000 signatures, we aim to end "Police Privilege" and send a clear message that society will no longer tolerate such actions going unpunished. Let us come together to support all those affected by unjust systems and work towards building a future where everyone can feel protected and equal in the eyes of the law.
Join us in this cause and make your voice heard. Sign this petition and call (929) 476-2947 for paper copies to further our initiative. Let's flood their inboxes and telephone lines to ensure they hear our cry loud and clear before sentencing day. All power to the people! ✊🏿
Sign the petition, and together, let's make a difference for Eric Duprey and countless others impacted by systemic injustice. Together, we can demand accountability and fairness. Please, sign today.
