My 11-month-old son, among many other innocent children, was subjected to months of abhorrent abuse and terrifying health and safety failures at Fairytales Day Nursery in Dudley. This unacceptable neglect and maltreatment reached a devastating climax with the tragic death of a 14-month-old boy. As a parent, watching your child suffer and knowing that other children have lost their lives due to sheer negligence is unbearable. Our children deserve to learn and grow in a safe environment, but Fairytales Day Nursery betrayed that trust in the worst possible way.

The lack of accountability has left many families, including mine, heartbroken and outraged. Despite the severity of these incidents, meaningful justice has yet to be delivered. The authorities must take decisive action to investigate thoroughly and hold those responsible accountable for their actions. We need clear and strict regulations to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.

It's crucial for local government bodies and childcare oversight institutions to reevaluate their monitoring processes and ensure rigorous checks are regularly conducted. Staff must undergo extensive background checks and child protection training, and there should be strict enforcement of health and safety standards.
