Demand Justice for 116 Neglected Animals in Plympton

Demand Justice for 116 Neglected Animals in Plympton
The Issue
Over 100 animals were found neglected—some dead—on a rural Massachusetts property. And the warning signs were there for months.
On September 22, 2025, officers from the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) and local law enforcement searched a property in Plympton, MA after multiple reports of animal neglect. What they found was horrific.
Authorities seized 116 animals, many living in cramped, filthy conditions without food, water, or adequate shelter. Dead livestock were discovered lying next to live animals. Bones and skulls—believed to be the remains of goats—were scattered across the property. The homeowner, Jenifer Rogers, admitted to letting animals die due to her refusal to care for them.
Despite prior reports of neglect, MSPCA was unable to access the property sooner due to Rogers’ lack of cooperation. That delay allowed suffering to continue—and more animals to die.
This is more than one woman’s cruelty. It’s a system failure.
We demand that Plymouth County prosecutors:
- Pursue the maximum possible sentence for the 12 counts of animal cruelty Jenifer Rogers faces
- Ban Rogers from owning animals for life
- Investigate why earlier reports didn’t lead to faster intervention, and strengthen laws requiring mandatory inspection after repeated complaints.
The animals rescued are now in MSPCA care. But justice doesn’t stop with removal—it requires accountability. Without meaningful consequences, this cycle of cruelty will repeat elsewhere.
Sign if you believe 116 animals should not suffer in vain. Sign to say animal cruelty in Massachusetts must come with real consequences.
