To the Honourable Family Court,

I, Rabbi Yaakov Avraham, make this statement in support of Elisabeta Moldovan, whom I have known for many years through our synagogue community.

Elisabeta Tabita is not, and has never been, an unfit mother. I have always known her to be caring, responsible, and devoted to her child.

In or around 2013, Elisabeta came to my wife and me at the synagogue in a distressed and fearful state. She told us that a man had been stalking her, abusing her, and pressuring her into having an abortion. She made it clear to us that they were never partners or in a relationship. On that occasion, she showed us visible bruises on her face and arms, which she said he had caused.

She appeared frightened and traumatised, and her disclosure was made long before any court proceedings, at a time when she was seeking help and safety. I had no reason to doubt her truthfulness.

I respectfully state that the allegations against Elisabeta Tabita are not consistent with the person I know, and I do not believe she is an unfit mother. I believe she has always acted in the best interests of her child.

I confirm that this statement is true to the best of my knowledge and belief.
