Peter Mullen 07/10/92- 02/06/2023

My heart is shattered. My son Peter Mullen was brutally taken from us in Edinburgh by Dylan Curran, who stabbed him twice in the back while he was courageously trying to stop a fight. The court case has ended, but it feels as if my son has been forgotten. I live each day with a profound sorrow, wishing him to continue raising his three children who are now growing up fatherless.

This tragedy has left me devastated beyond words. My son was the light of our lives, and his absence is a void that can never be filled. His children meant everything to him, and not a day passes where I don't envision a world where they could still have their loving father with them. My own life feels like it's crumbling, as every day is a painful reminder of my loss. I find no comfort in anything, not even being able to mourn him at his grave without the constant reminder of cruelty in the world, as mementos left in his memory are repeatedly taken away.

I am imploring you to help keep his memory alive and ensure that his death is not in vain. We need a renewed focus on preventing such senseless violence and ensuring that victims and their families receive the support and justice they deserve. I am asking for tougher sentences on knife crimes and more community support for families shattered by such tragedies.

Our legal and community systems must do more to recognize the pain of victims and their families and implement measures that deter violent crimes. I need your support to make this happen; let's create a safer Edinburgh together.

Please sign this petition to demand justice, remembrance, and changes that could prevent another family from experiencing such unimaginable heartache.
