Demand Justice and Clemency for Leonard Webster
The Issue
Please help us in the fight for justice and clemency for Leonard Webster!
Leonard has been wrongfully incarcerated and separated from his family. Despite overwhelming evidence that points to his co- defendant BERWYN THOMPSON the legal system has failed Leonard with atty misconduct and an over zealous and bias prosecution that made a deal with BERWYN THOMPSON who was under surveillance by the FBI where they had witnessed Mr BERWYN THOMPSON receive 900 kilograms of cocaine mailed to his Boling Brook Illinois home. After his arrest the co-defendant provided false information implicating Business man and Real Estate Investor Leonard Webster and others to secure his freedom and having all charges against him dropped , Due to Mr Thompson's false statements the Dupage county prosecutors office launched an over zealous and bias prosecution against Leonard where they admitted in court documents that there was no physical evidence of Leonard Webster in possession of any drugs at any time under any circumstances and they also never witnessed Leonard at the Bolingbrook home during the entire two year investigation, due to the false statements of his co-defendant and the unethical representation of legal counsel and the state prosecutor Mr Webster was forced to take a plea of 15 years in the Illinois Department Of Corrections.
It is time to correct this grave injustice. Mr Webster is a father of two children and a respected man in the community who has been a upstanding citizen for over twenty years. Leonard Webster is a victim of false information, inadequate legal counsel as well as attorney misconduct during his 2021 criminal case in Dupage county.
This is not an isolated incident by the dupage county states prosecutors. As a man of color Leonard faced racial biases and unfair practices from the Dupage County States Attorney's Office.
Leonard's case is not an isolated incident; wrongful convictions happen far too often in our justice system. According to the National Registry of Exonerations, there have been over 2,800 exonerations in the United States since 1989. Each of these cases represents a person who lost years of their life due to systemic failures.
We cannot stand by while an innocent man suffers behind bars. By signing this petition, you are joining us in demanding that authorities review Leonard's case with urgency and grant him the clemency or exoneration that he deserves. Your signature can help bring Leonard home where he belongs—please sign this petition now!
