China's ongoing suppression of Taiwan has been a personal thorn in my side as I have witnessed the dwindling number of Taiwan's diplomatic allies over time. The actions of China, regarding the eradication of Taiwan's diplomatic allies as a merit and using financial influence to sway our allies, have successfully cast a shadow over Taiwan's existence on the world stage.

This isolation not only undermines sovereignty and democracy but also prevents Taiwan's 23.57 million population from participating in global decisions and being recognized on international platforms. According to a 2018 report by the US Department of Defense, Taiwan has lost seven diplomatic partners due to China's coercion practices.

By deliberately isolating Taiwan, China is affecting the global community, depriving the world of Taiwan's commendable efforts in areas such as healthcare, technology, and environmental protection.

We urge the international community to stand up against these practices, affirm their commitment to democratic values, and strongly urge China to end its disengagement of Taiwan. It is time to recognize Taiwan as a sovereign nation and include it in global conversations and decision-making processes.
