Demand Immediate Toxic Mold Inspection for Tampa Apartment Building

Demand Immediate Toxic Mold Inspection for Tampa Apartment Building
The Issue
My name is Anna Kimera, a resident of an apartment complex in Tampa, The Vinings at Hunter's Green, Hillsborough County, FL, USA. My family and I moved into apartment #116 in this building on March 24, only to discover the unit infested with cockroaches and toxic black mold. Despite living there for only two months, we have already suffered debilitating health issues - my children and I constantly battle with red, itchy eyes, and a persistent skin rash.
In an attempt to alleviate our situation, we were relocated to a different unit, #136, situated on the 3rd floor of the original building. Distressingly, the symptoms persist, suggesting similar air quality issues exist in our new unit. Despite my persistent requests, the leasing office refused to facilitate an air quality test.
Toxic black mold exposure is known to cause health problems, specifically adverse skin reactions and respiratory diseases. It is an issue that should be taken with utmost gravity. Sadly, countless other tenants may also be silently suffering from similar health crises due to the negligence of the management.
Our family's plight underscores the necessity of immediate action from relevant authorities. It is high time we demanded safe living conditions free from harmful toxins. It is urgent that our building is subjected to a thorough toxic mold inspection.
Please sign this petition to urge local health departments, housing authorities, and Florida's elected representatives to intervene in this dire situation. Help ensure that the management conducts a comprehensive toxic mold inspection in our building, and remediate all identified health hazards accordingly. These steps will safeguard not just my family, but all residents from enduring additional, preventable health complications. Act now to protect our right to a healthy living environment and hold negligent landlords accountable. Sign the petition, your voice counts!
