As a veteran and a proud Texan, I have witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of Governor Greg Abbott's policies on our state. His disconnect from the hardworking people of Texas has directly led to harmful policies that affect us all. More specifically, his policymaking has made medicines that myself and other veterans rely on illegal. Furthermore, his flagrant apathy towards gun violence has left dozens if not hundreds of children in this state dead or disabled.

Governor Abbott's extreme dereliction of duty and failure to protect the citizens of Texas is unacceptable. His reckless, homophobic, racist, and xenophobic behavior and policy making have directly led to deaths and disabilities throughout our beloved state.

The time for change is now. We must hold our leaders accountable for their actions - or lack thereof - especially when those actions harm those they are sworn to protect.
