Living in the heart of Nemours, WV, it's painful and terrifying to witness our community being isolated due to an inaccessible bridge. My family - my husband, daughter, son-in-law, and their children - along with many of our dear friends and neighbors, reside here. Each day, we face the hardship of a closed bridge on Pinnacle Lake Rd, which is one of the only two routes leading out of our neighborhood. The alternative is a train crossing, which is frequently blocked for extended periods, sometimes for hours.

Our neighborhood is home to children and the elderly, and we are gravely concerned about the safety risks this situation presents in the event of emergencies. Having no reliable and swift way out in such scenarios is not a situation any community should ever have to endure. Imagine a child or an elderly person needing immediate medical attention, yet being trapped due to infrastructure failure!

We urgently call upon the West Virginia Department of Highways to take immediate action. We request an immediate repair of the bridge on Pinnacle Lake Rd or, if that is not feasible, the provision of a temporary bridge until repairs can be completed.

We understand that public infrastructure projects require time and resources, but nothing can take precedence over the safety and well-being of our citizens. We hope that the Department will prioritize our pleas in consideration of the urgency of the situation. We call on all concerned residents of Nemours and surrounding areas, the state of West Virginia, and beyond to help us in our plea.
