Demand Immediate Release for Inmate Korey Rabion Battling Metastasized Cancer

The Issue

My beloved family member, Korey Rabion, is currently serving time as a prisoner, but is simultaneously fighting a battle larger than imaginable - a battle against metastasized cancer. This has arisen due to lack of initial care and has unfortunately spread throughout his entire body. The health of incarcerated individuals often gets overlooked, forgetting the fact that they, too, are entitled to healthcare and a chance to fight for their lives.

The World Health Organization estimates that cancer cases in prisons are 2-3 times higher than in the general population (WHO, 2017). Korey's situation is not unique, but that doesn't mean we should overlook his fight for survival and resort to inaction.

Korey's delayed cancer treatment is a breach of his human rights, as set out by the United Nations' Nelson Mandela Rules which state that prisoners should receive the same standards of healthcare that are available in the community, and not have their treatment delayed, interrupted or denied.

His life now hangs in the balance due to avoidable healthcare negligence. Join us as we appeal to the authorities to immediately provide Korey with the necessary medical care he desperately needs and allows him a compassionate release! Your signatures can make a much-needed difference to Korey's life. Let us reaffirm that every life, regardless of circumstance, is worth fighting for. Please, sign this petition now.
