American journalist Shelly Kittleson was kidnapped in Baghdad in a brazen attack caught on surveillance video, reportedly by militants linked to an Iranian-backed group.

This is not the first time an American has been abducted in Iraq — and delays can cost lives.

While U.S. officials say they are coordinating with Iraqi authorities, time is critical. One suspect is already in custody, but others remain at large, and Shelly’s safety is still unknown.
