Demand ICE Obey Federal Court Orders in Nevada
The Issue
No government agency — not even ICE — is above the law. In March 2025, U.S. District Judge Richard Boulware II ruled that ICE cannot detain immigrants facing deportation without first giving them a chance to request a bond hearing. That is a basic legal right. ICE ignored it.
Judge Boulware didn't mince words. He said ICE is "rebelling against the basic principle that an order issued by a court must be obeyed." The American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada called it what it is: a federal agency "openly and brazenly ignoring federal court orders." More than 100 judges across the country have now ruled against this same mandatory detention policy — and still ICE refuses to comply.
This isn't just an immigration issue. When a federal agency defies a direct court order, every American should be alarmed. The courts are one of the few checks we have on government power. If ICE can ignore a judge's ruling today, any agency can ignore any ruling tomorrow. That's not how democracy works.
Nevadans are already feeling the impact. Real people in our state — held without warrants, without bond hearings, without due process — are waiting for the law to protect them. The law already spoke. ICE just won't listen.
Sign this petition to demand that ICE immediately comply with Judge Boulware's order and restore the right to bond hearings for detained immigrants in Nevada — because no one, not even a federal agency, gets to decide which court orders they'll follow.
